From roughly 10% of the catalogue to the full inventory - 12,000+ listings now kept in sync across eBay and Shopify.
The bottleneck
Bullionaire deals in antique, hallmarked jewellery, listed across both eBay and Shopify. Every piece is unique and individually photographed, specified and described, so each listing had to be created by hand - and then recreated to appear on the second marketplace.
Manual effort was the binding constraint. Only around 10% of the eBay catalogue had ever been replicated to Shopify; there were not enough hours to cross-list the rest. The majority of the inventory therefore sold only through eBay, whose seller fees run to hundreds of thousands of pounds a year, with no lower-cost route to the same buyers.
What we built
We built a crosslisting engine that converts any eBay listing into a ready-to-publish Shopify draft automatically, mapping photographs, attributes and description to Bullionaire's own conventions rather than a generic template.
The system is designed to preserve editorial control. No listing is published automatically: each draft enters a review queue for approval, so the team retains final say over every piece while the engine absorbs the repetitive work.
The lever
Over 12,000 listings are now kept in sync across both marketplaces - the entire inventory, rather than the ~10% that manual effort previously allowed.
With the full catalogue available on Shopify, sales can shift to the channel that avoids eBay's seller fees, materially reducing a six-figure annual cost - while listing work that once required tens of hours a week now takes a few seconds of review per item.
